If that is a 3rd party application, then if you put a shortcut for that application into the Public Desktop folder, that will appear on all users. Apr 20,  · Integrations and bots to use with Zoom. May 31,  · An easier way to install Teams is to install the Teams Installer on every computer. The Teams Installer is placed in the Program Files folder and will run automatically when a new user logs in to the computer. It will then install Teams in the user-profile folder. You can also deploy the MSI file with a Group Policy.

We recommend that you deploy the package to computers rather than a specific user. By targeting computers, all new users of those computers will benefit from this deployment.

Teams can also be distributed to your organization as part of Microsoft Apps for enterprise. Download the MSI that you want to install on computers in your organization. The x86 architecture bit or bit Teams supports is independent of other Office apps installed on a computer.

If you have bit computers, we recommend installing the bit Teams MSI even if the computer is running a bit version of Office.

Install the bit version of Teams only on bit operating systems. If you try to install the bit version of Teams on a bit operating system, the installation won't be successful and you won't receive an error message. MSI files can't be used to deploy updates. The Teams client will auto-update when it detects a new version is available from the service. To re-deploy the latest installer, use the process of redeploying MSI described below. If you deploy an older version of the MSI file, the client will auto-update except in VDI environments when possible for the user.

If a very old version gets deployed, the MSI will trigger an app update before the user is able to use Teams. We don't recommended that you change the default install locations as this could break the update flow.

Having too old a version will eventually block users from accessing the service. Make sure the computers you install Teams on meeting the requirements listed in Hardware requirements for Microsoft Teams. If a user uninstalls Teams from their user profile, the MSI installer will track that the user has uninstalled the Teams app and no longer install Teams for that user profile. To redeploy Teams for this user on a particular computer where it was uninstalled, do the following:.

The next steps contain information about how to modify the registry. If you block a program from running, you are technically running that program when you are uninstalling it.

You will probably have to unblock it before you can remove it. I have this same problem with GoToMeeting and a few other profile installed programs since we instigated our AppData program block.

I don't remember exactly, or where, but I seem to remember : you've got to be considered a "Trusted Installer". I think you can see that if you look at the props of the msi? Sorry to be so vague, but maybe this can get you going in the right direction. Are there multiple users that log onto that machine? Even with domain admin credentials you wouldn't automatically have permissions to those. Maybe Event Viewer can show some more detail? Perhaps Zoom. I see the files, but they are under my domain admin profile, and it claims I still don't have access, but this got me thinking.

Tomorrow, when I can get back on the machine, I am going to unban zoom on the machine in question, then try runningthe files, and see if it likes it better. I wonder if the ban is stopping the uninstaller from running. Zoom does have an uninstaller that you can use.

I actually had to get it from their support, but you might be able to find it on their site. But you can find the uninstaller here it's all the way at the bottom of the page, seach cleanzoom:. I've also been blocked from uninstalling if someone else is logged in and has it open. A reboot clears that up, but I'm guessing you've already tried that.

Block it at the firewall and move on. Then, when they change there minds in a few months, you can let it back. This is correct even logged in as admin if a restricted user is logged in your credentials for certain things are obsolete. I hate working on a station that has restricted the internet then needing to get a new driver.

Technically, our company allows the web-based client, so I can't block it with a DNS entry, as we need the web interface to work.
